Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge!

Woo Hoo! I am loving being TMS guest designer! Not only is Melissa a great gal...but her TMS challenges are awesome! Plus her current DT makes the cutest samples ever! I'm loving the company I'm running with! :D I can't thank Mel enough for the opp!

Ok...so here is Mel's challenge with a "TWIST"! This week is NOT a sketch...but a recipe! Make a card using this weeks sponsor's image...which just happens to be the fabulous Mo's Digital Pencil! Have you seen her images??? OMG... I just adore her little kids/children images. Anywho...back to the recipe. The recipe is to use 3 decorative paper, 2 embellishments, & 1 flourish! How fun is that? Here is MY take on the challenge! I used Kai in the Snow! There's something about Kai that I just simply love! Maybe it's those chubby cheeks? I think so! I've used Kai before but back then I used Kai playing in the Leaves and mentioned Kai is a girl. Still...I made this Kai a bit more for a boy because Kai reminds me SO MUCH of my Ozzy when he was little. SAME chubby cheeks Kai has!!! Kai was colored with Copics. My 3 DP's are there even though they may not show much...lol...but they are from a Winter pack from Oriental Trading Co., my 2 embellishments are the metal work and the punches snowflakes, and well the flourish...that's hard to hide! Guest Stamper...my DD LV!

So since I don't have anything of mine to share yet...I'm featuring LV...lol. Also miss THANG doesn't have time right now to update her blog...so why not show off what she's made. So here goes! I love how she's trying to be like mommy on her photographing the card and markers...lol.

She made this ADORABLE card for my Twilight swap I hosted over on SCS. She did this while watching TV!!! WHAT??? I can't do it...I get distracted very easily! Sometimes I think I may have adult ADD! Anywho...how cute is this? I love how her coloring has improved and taught ME along the way. I have a little secret to share...thankfully she doesn't have computer class in school anymore...so I don't have to worry about her peeking...but her dad and I are gonna spring and get her the complete Copic collection along with the airbrush machine. She's been trying to do the "glow" on her "shadowing" but get's frustrated that she can't get it quite right...she's been hinting about it (the machine) but we pretend not to listen...lol. We're only getting it for her because she's in art class and she wants to show her teacher her Manga work and what better marker to use than Copic. Of course me being a mean mom...I tell her to work with my Prismas...lol! Ok...so here are the deets to her card. I sat next to her while she crafted and know EXACTLY what she used!

Before I go on though...I HAVE to tell a cute little story about her. So...she's sitting with the stamp in hand and she's thinking really hard...almost to the point where I think I heard her brain sprain...lol. Well...a few minutes later she jumps off my chair and says "MOM...I got it! It's GENIOUS"! WHAT??? LMAO...the way she said "genious" was like the funniest thing ever! She raised her little finger and smiled. It's one of those 'you have to be there' moments. Anywho...I had just gotten my Top Note die and CRINGED when she picked THAT to use. I was amazed she knew how to use and sandwhich it! Thanks to YouTube she's been learning some cool things and not just watching idiotic vids like most teen kids do. Of course she watches them because her friends send her links...but she doesn't search for them...lol. Anywho...the look on her face when she thought of the sentiment and LO and what not was something to photograph (but didn't :( ). It's cute to see the things that excite her and feel SO proud of those moments because I know I'm leaving her with something to share with her kids...the art of stamping and creating. Hopefully it's something she keeps up...although I don't mind her music...lol.

Featured Stamper~Sonya

I had a swap in my MSN group where you were to make a card using swirls, doodles, and/or, flourishes and this is what my girl Sonya came up with! I just had to showcase it because I think it is such an original way to use swirls, doodles, and/or, flourishes! Great job Sonya! This card is so deserving of the Featured Stamper spot! If anyone else has an original idea or out of the box idea to use S, D, and/or, F...feel free to comment and link to your card. I love seeing new things made with S, D, and/or, F's since I'm a S, D, and/or, F freak...lol!

Figgy Pudding Hanna

I made this Hanna card for todays SCS Featured Stamper challenge. I decided to FINALLY break out my Figgy Pudding DP (as hard as it was) to use it for this card. I had to ink my new Hanna for this. I just received her on Friday, so she was aching to come out and play. She had to hold on a bit because I was DOG sick! I've been to my Dr. many times to get lab done and still no straight answers...hopefully tomorrow she has ANY news, good or bad, that's God's will!

Stamper of the week!

This weeks featured stamper is Julie Ericksen! I received this beautiful card from her from a "Monochromatic Brown" swap I had over at my MSN cardmaking group. This card is amazing! I had always wanted to create such a beautiful scenery card like this with my Stampscapes but never acheived such beauty and sold my stamps on eBay. Random "Randy" Stamper

Ok...so I'm a little out there with my title right? Well, I'm in a "little out there" mood and the kids are watching Austin Powers...lol. Anywho, I wanted to share this AWESOME Paper Bag Card made by a good friend of mine, Joani McDonald. I was the lucky recipient of this card from her group Cards Made By Hand in which I joined her "Paper Bag" swap. It's displayed on my desk because I like playing with the spinny thingy...lol. It's also great to display such a great card! What a great mix of sets for this one huh?
