Go For The Gold Challenge at Bugaboo!

Hey all and Happy Saturday! It's happy because I'm auto posting as I just lay in bed and spend quality time with the kids. They keep complaining I haven't spent enough time with them lately so I'm dedicating this weekend to them. We're gonna have a coloring session though and stamp a bit...but NO COMPUTER TIME! Maybe complete some chores around the house as well...and care for a sick baby. She has another cold thanks to our strange weather! It's a good thing actually...staying off the computer today...but not all for great reasons though.!

Anywho...today Bugaboo is challenging YOU to make a card or project inspired by the Winter Olympics! Of course your projects don't have to be Winter Olympic themed...but instead just by being someones cheerleader and cheering them on to "Go for the Gold"! Can be someone with a new job, maybe just married...anything that cheers someone or something on!

I actually took it literal and made this treat holder. What athlete doesn't need some kind of snack bar...mostly energy ones right? So this Cupie Baby here is cheering on the athletes competing...don't matter where they're from...but he IS partial to his U.S. of A! LOL! You go baby!

Quick rundown...this challenge is brought to you by Dawn B.! She's challenged us to create a candy box or treat holder. I went with a treat baggie/holder for this yummy trail mix. It's an Asian blend and it sure is yummy! I just didn't like the wasabi peas...YUCK! LOL! I went with 2 of my favorite monsters/aliens...Spike and Dreck.

Now on to a personal note! I want to thank each and everyone of you that have bought Moody for Rock. You have NO idea how much I do appreciate the help you've provided...seriously! Oscar and I and of course my kids would like to give you all a HUGE cyber hug. We are forever in debt! HUGE HUGS all around!

Makeup For The Weekend #12

Hey all and HAPPY FRIDAY! TGIF for sure! I had gotten so use to sleeping in a little late and what not...and now with my kids back in school...well...it messed up my routine...LOL! It's actually drained me to the point where I almost forgot to post this...even from last night when I could have auto-posted...lol. I'm drained as I go in the morning to drop the kids off...then out at 11 again to take Lizzie to kinder...then out at 2 again to pick up LV & Ozzy and then 2:30 to pick up Lizzie. I can't wait until Lizzie is in full day. Oh well...I can't home school them. No wait...THAT would actually kill me! So Thank GOD for school. HAHAHA! Anywho...today is Paper Makeup, Makeup For The Weekend challenge! YAY! For today, the challenge is to make a card or project with a birthday theme in honor of Tina's birthday on Sunday! HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY TINA! :D So I made this top note box. Inside it's empty as I'm out of candy...YIKES...but who wouldn't want to get a little present like this with some sweet treats inside? LOL! I used Birthday Lauren for this treat box. Ok...I'm exhausted and headed to the couch to nap...I'll catch you guys later! Hope to see you tomorrow for JUGs Saturday challenge! I hope you're wearing your green or else you'll get the pinch! LOL! I am wearing my green...I have my green on ALL the time...MY EYES!!! :P Ok...so I'm a cheater and back in school I was told they didn't count...boo hoo...but yes...I am sporting my green! My kids are NOTORIOUS for pinching me until they're welts! YIKES!

Anywho...here is a little project I worked on not only for my DT...but also for today! It's a treat box BUT in a larger size! Instead of 2, 4, 6, & 8...it's 2 1/2, 5, 7 1/2, & 10! I even went shopping at Party City for some chocolate coins...lol. Pretty cool huh? Who wouldn't want this at the end of their rainbow? So I used Bombshell Angel & Accessories for this project. I even dug into my scrap pile for the lid DP.

So I know I promised you a video tutorial on how to make these...but WOW...it's so long I'm gonna have to break it down into maybe 4 videos!!! Let me know if you're still interested in it or if I should just go for a written tutorial!

Ok...so I am off to a local pub to get me some green beer! A friend of mine asked me to go with her and how can I pass up green beer! Cheers to you!!!

Fairy Nice Window Treat Boxes

Yes...I made some window treat boxes! BUT...it's a twist from the one tutorial that's out there! How? You'll see in a video tutorial I'll be adding next. It's in the cutting floor right now AND then I need to convert it. Since I'm making them using my old dinosaur computer my brother gave me...I have the old version of Windows Movie Maker...so I wont have it up on Monday as thought. :( BUT I will be adding it this coming week. Here are the boxes I made today though so you can check 'em out! Those who know me well know I'm SUPER addicted to fairies...so I used all 3 fairies from The Greeting Farm! Their names are Tink, Eva, & Chloe! They are the newest addition to my family of rubbah! LOL!

This is Chloe! She is the bubble gum fairy guarding this treat box of bubble gum! She also goes by her middle name...Rosita!

This here is Tink! She's the chocolate ball guardian! Watch out...this is not your ordinary Tink...this one will claw at you if you try to swipe the chocolates!

And last but not least is sweet Eva! She's the mint fairy! She's so cool to the taste. She's the guardian of all things minty. Here's she guarding her chocolate mint kisses saved for her bittersweet owner...ME! :P We mesh well!

Now I want to give you a moment of *GASP*! I had to try out LV's Copics for this minty cutie! I tell you...I really don't see the big of a difference in these and Prismas! Check that out!

LOL! *GASP* huh? Since LV hasn't used them yet...I thought I'd give them a test drive first to see if they were safe for LV...lol!

Caliope the Cutie

OMG...when I saw this little guy at Paper Makeup Stamps...I just had to have him/her?! LOL! That look on it's face is just too darn cute! So LV made up her mind for like the 5th time on her Valentines for her BFF's! *rolls eyes* After she saw Caliope...it was instant love...lol. Check out the baggies I made for her BFF's! The treats are some YUMMY jelly hearts drizzled in sugar.

To make the baggie top...I cut my CS to 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 in both Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirrouette...ran it thru the CB using the Top Note die and just trimmed off the notched edge off the PPirrouette then ran the PPirrouette thru the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder and then adhered it to the Riding Hood Red using the Glue Glider and then scored it in half using my Scor-Pal. Caliope was attached to the cello bag using small Zots.

I also popped open this cute adhesive runner I treated myself to for my b-day... it's like a mini ATG gun...it's super cute in pink and green and the best for my hands which I have in the past suffered from carpal tunnel and that ATG gun looks HUGE! All That Scraps has them on the waitlist right now...but you can check them out at Scrapbook Store at your Door.

Check out my new rubbah as well...just don't tell the hubby! SHHHH! The little monster guys I got for my DS...but I just adore them as well. AND OMG...Katie told me there are MORE little monsters/aliens coming out as well as ANOTHER Caliope but holding a star...I LOVE STARS!!! Not to mention more fairies too!!! SO I'm super stoked for that...can't wait for March to buy some! Hopefully by then my tax return has arrived. ;)

Nesties!!! I love them!!!

Ok...as mentioned before...I was gonna post my first project made using my new babies. Well...I completely forgot yesterday and so I'm posting today.

I made this tin for a friend who had been suffering from a nasty cold and so in the tin...I threw in some tea packets from Tazo teas. I love those teas!!! This one is a green tea with a dash of peppermint. Great for sore throats. I also had to use some of my neglected stuff to make this with something new...you know...to balance my purchases out! LOL! Yeah...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :P I reached for my box of scraps and foud these large pieces of CS and DP just waiting for their time to be used. It's DP from K & Co. that I bought AGES ago from Target. Target doesn't even carry it anymore it's been that long!!! I've also negeteced my dimensional sticker flowers that combine with the DP also bought at Target. My objective this year...and part of a resolution is to use up what I haven't used. I need to justify my purchases...NO? I have also been neglecting my Rubber Necker stamps! I have a large photo box full of these stamps...and could you believe some haven't even been inked??? Yeah...that's bad! So when I finally decided on what I wanted to do with the tin...I reached for the foliage stamps from the Jeanne Streiff collection which I'm just now noticing they are no longer avail. So glad I picked them up when they had them. Basically everything on this tin was neglected stuff!!! I'm so horrible! *puts head down* BUT...that's about to change! This is one resolution I just can't breake!

Now...here is a pic of my new babies in their temporary home...that's until I go shopping again and buy me a binder and some magnet strips. Here they lay on a magnet sheet slipped in to a clear envie. They're together with their older brothers...the star...lol. :P

I'm SOOO SORRY!

I want to first apologize for my lack of posting. For one...I had very bad news presented to me having to do with my financial status...too long and whinney to even talk about it...but just know that I am now $1000 a month poorer and living in California...that's depressing! So...since I got that news...I have been TOO bummed to do ANYTHING! I haven't stamped or made ANYTHING and that alone has driven my mojo into non-existance. Today I got a PM on SCS though from a DF about a card of mine she received in a swap we were in and she gave me such wonderful praise that motivated me enough to work on something today. So I'm posting these things I've worked on in the past just so you know I'm still here. I will get back to checking out your blogs as well...just be patient with me. *smile* Ok...so here are some cards and ABC's I've worked on for swaps and RAK's! I'll add detail soon! *smile* However...I have been helping my DD create a new blog to post about her time at the Jonas Brothers concert...and well...our love for the Jonas Brothers. She made her first ever banner!!! I'm so proud!

It's slumpsville for me...

Well readers...friends...fellow stampers! I have officially hit a BAD slump! I haven't been able to create ANYTHING this past week. Of course I have been super busy and what not...but OMG I've hit it bad. I did however manage to finish ONE project...a treat holder/candy box slider. I received one of these this past Halloween from a swap and LOVED the way the box just slid out...kinda like the popcorn sliders... I too made these for a swap. Ela...if you're reading...LOOK AWAY!!! These are for your sweet treat swap. ;)

Anywho...since my Scor-Pal had been collecting dust due to my running around and this and that...I broke it out to make these. Very easy to make now with my Scor-Pal...how could I have lived without it? To create the slider box, I used an 8 X 11 sheet of CS. I lined up the long side of the CS against the top of the SP and scored at 2 1/2", 3", 7 1/2", & 8". I then flipped the CS and lined up the shorter side to the top of the SP and scored at 1". I cut the bottom "tabs" and folded CS to create the box. After adhered the tabs to form the flat bottom. I used the box of gummies to help flatten it. I then just stamped and decorated at choice. Sorry I didn't do a photo tutorial...but like I said...I have just been so out of it.

I used the bundle from the SU hostess set Spring Solitude and the treats...well...those are a box of gummies...yummm! Thanks for looking and I hope to come out of my slump to be posting here more often now with the kids out of school. Until next time!

Nugget Tents...yummy!

Hi! I know many of you have seen these cool small treat holders for say 1 nugget...but I made mine a bit bigger to tent 2! Why have one chocolate nugget when you can have 2! LOL! Looking thru SCS galleries looking for treat holder ideas...I saw the nugget tents and thought I'd make them for a swap I'm in. I hope the recipients like!

Patriotic Tiny Treat Boxes

Hi there...time for another Gabby tutorial...lol. It's been a while since I last worked on something to share and apart from that...I've been neglecting my Scor-Pal for projects OTHER than scoring and folding cards. Ok...so here goes! I'm gonna be making about 30 or so of these for our 4th Of July get together celebration. This year we're expecting my inlaws to be here as well as my sister who's in Arizona and also my DD's BFF's. I'm gonna make these only for the kids and fill them with those "snap dragons"...you know...the ones you throw on the ground and they "snap"? That'll keep them entertained in the day time besides the pool until it gets dark enough to start lighting the fireworks. Ok...now here goes for real this time...lol.

Supplies Used:

Brilliant Blue CS 6 1/2" x 4"

Real Red CS 1/2" x 7" (for box band)

Stamp Set Heartfelt Hits 1 from Gina K. (starburst)

Stamp Set Patriotic Mini from Hana Stamps (Hanna holding flag)

Lg. Star Punch from Stampin' Up!

1 3/8" Circle Punch from Stampin' Up!

1" Circle Punch from Stampin' Up!

Jet Black Staz-On

Many Marvelous Markers in Brilliant Blue, Real Red, More Mustard, & Blush Blossom

White Craft ink pad

Zots 3/16" glue dots

Snips scissors

Corner Rounder (with platfrom removed)

Scor-Pal

(click on thumbnail for larger pictures if these are too small for you)

First stamp (if desired) your 6 1/2" x 4" piece of CS.

Grab your Scor-Pal or other scoring device you may have

Turn your stamped CS over and line it up long ways. Score at 1", 3", 4", & 6"

Here it is with the template

Turn your CS piece the short way and score at 1" & 3"

Here it is again with template

Cut ONLY on dotted lines...solids are to fold

Use glue dots or adhesive of choice and add a dot or so to the small flaps (4)

Assemble bottom of box by leaving the smaller flaps on inside

Cut larger side (top) flaps at an angle to create "triangles" as picture. I didn't use a template...just eyeballed it

Cut off small flaps

Use your corner rounder without it's platform/feet and round those corners

Do the same to the "airplane" flaps

Slip in all flaps

Close box

Now on to the belt!

Fold the 1/2" x 7" belt as you go...I didn't score with the Scor-Pal

Add glue dots or adhesive of choice for the belts ends making sure NOT to adhere it to the box...we need it to slip off. Follow the following pictures.

Grab your embellishments for the belt of choice. Here I punched a blue star, red circle and white circle

Here I used Patriotic Hanna for the "spotlight" for the 1" circle

I partially inked up the part of the stamp I wanted to use which here was Hanna's arm and flag

Thank goodness for clear stamps and acrylics...you have a view of where you want then aligned. I'm not a Stamp-A-Majig user...lol.

Color in your image! Here I used Brilliant Blue, Real Red, More Mustard, & Blush Blossom. I used a white gel pen for the stars

Here is how I stacked my punches out...red circle, blue star, white with image. Then I attached them to the belt using glue dots.

Slip the belt on to your box and YOU'RE DONE!!! TA DA!!! Finished box measures 2" x 2" x 1"!!!

The possibilities are endless. You can make these for Weddings, Baby Showers, or just for fun to give to friends and family. You can fill them with candies, embellishments for a crafter friend, you can even use these as jewelry boxes!!! You can even use ribbon instead of CS for the belt!
