My first card after almost a year...

I can't believe I'm actually surprised that I didn't do as bad as I had expected. I did rack my brain after I colored up this cute Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm. I went blank for a couple of days. Then finally I dug into my files of my old cards and saw an easy LO to try.

Of course since I made this card for Lizzie's 7th birthday on Saturday, she chose every element on the card, so it was a definite challenge. Still it captures who she's growing up to be. She asked me to even add freckles!

It felt good, and if I have to do this at least once a week or every other week as a source for my stress relief, then I'll do that.I have to say, it felt so good to have a Copic in my hand again. The cold feel of the marker barrel in my hand was like eating a yummy chocolate. YES, that good. Sitting at my desk coloring while listening to my iPod got me back into my groove.

The only one who wasn't that happy I was back to stamping was the DH. He stood behind me and asks me, "You're stamping again? You know we can't afford your little hobby, right?". He's just not as supportive as before and it's sad. He blames his new attitude on being stressed out and having to put in extra hours at work. As if I'm not stressed myself. But oh well, his attitude isn't gonna put a damper on me stamping again.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card. Hopefully I'll be more active again.

this little hobby is as as cheap or as expensive as we make it. There are a lot of cheap ways to support your habit. From joining wish raks groups on splitcoast that have people send you images. To making a few friends who send you images. I am sure if your like most stampers you have a good amount of stuff in your stash that your habit really won;t need support from dollars for a while. I support my habit easiest by entering challenges that give prizes such as store credits or free stamps. Keep me from spending as much. I hope you keep stamping we all have to let the stress out somehow.

Gabby,
I love to see what you create. This card is perfect.
I can always send you some images your way, just let me know!
I agree with jan. you can make it as cheap or expensive as you want. Also 1 stamp is not just for one card, sometimes I feel like we always have to keep buying because stuff is always being released, but that's not the case.
stamps will always be there a year or two later and sometimes after that time you don't even like them anymore because your style or trends have changed!

big hugs to you my friend and keep on stamping!

beautiful card, gabby! i'm so glad you decided to pick up the copics again. your coloring is so pretty! i understand your hubby - mine can be the same way, esp after me becoming a full time sahm, but the ladies above have FABULOUS advice. enter challenges to win freebies - i've gotten so many stamps and embellies as freebies that my hubby doesn't believe me anymore when i say i won this or that! LOL i have to actually show him the blog post with my name on it! funny, huh? glad to see you back. *hugs*

Gabby! I have MISSED YOU!!!! I am so glad you are back to stamping again. I have done very little stamping, creating, blogging over this last year as well. I hope you can keep at it. Even if it IS just once every other week or so. I am in the same boat actually. My Dr. actually told me, COLOR once a week, even if you don't like it, just to "prime the pump" and try to get back to where you once were. So that's what I'm trying to do. Again, I am SO GLAD you are back! YAY!!!

Well, you certainly haven't lost your touch to create beautiful cards! This one is stunning.

I'm sorry to hear your hubby isn't as supportive as he used to be. That doesn't help much. Just hang in there and maybe he'll soon realize that this is GOOD therapy and it's cheaper than meds/docs.

And your friends have certainly given great advice! Enter challenges for freebies.

Keep your chin up and your eyes on the Lord - all will work out in the end. Love ya, sweetie!

Gabbie, it's so good to see you post some of your gorgeous art work again. I hope that you can find some solice in your work and post when you can.

I have a quote that I read daily and it helps me a lot...

"All you need is deep within you waiting to unfold and reveal itself."

Take care,
Theresa
