There She Goes Tastes Like Chicken!

And according to my DH...it does! EWWWWW!!! He's actually had possum! *GAG* We have one that passes by in our yard on our brick wall and OMG he's sooooo creepy looking! His beady little eyes...*shivers*! Still I could use this possum to stamp! When I saw this set I initially wanted to use the possum for the sneak peek...but HAD to use the couch for piecing practice. I'm getting a bit rusty there! Anywho...I was googling possum pictures and came across one I had to use! It was of a possum in the middle of the road and apparently the ones who paint the street line dividers didn't bother moving it...or just thought they'd paint over it for kicks and giggles! I hope this card gives you the giggles! Please...no hate comments! From looking at some posts on SCS about this set...not everyone likes or even gets the humor to this! I'm the kind who loves humor...so this is so me and I so get it! LOL! This card is yet another try at my hand with Copics. Practice is needed...so be gentle with your comments! LOL! Notice how I made the LO to look like the road? LOL! Thanks to sketch challenge #220.

Enjoying the final days of Summer!

I am SO glad Summer is almost over...well...to us Southern Californian's at least calendar wise! I WISH we had those fun transitions where we actually see the seasons change...but I'll live vicariously thru friends and online pics...lol. Still...having some breeze starting to come in is so refreshing compare to those sticky heat gusts...UGH! I hate the sticky sweaty feeling!!! Anywho...here is Hanna enjoying the "final days" of Summer! Oh...and you don't always see me use tons of flowers like this huh? Well...thanks to the WONDERFUL Cindy Haffner...she has inspired me to break out my flowers to play with. I mean I invest so much in these things I might as well use them! LOL! Thanks Cindy for that inspiration! ;)

BTW...this card was made using a kit I received from a swap...so I don't know who the vendors are. The only thing I provided were the flowers, base, & stamped image.

Aloha from Hawaii

As you may all know by now...I have a sick obsession with Hanna Stamps. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my other dealers...uhm...I mean stamping companies...but I don't know what it is about Hanna Stamps! Anywho...I made this card yesterday before the Hanna release party because I was gonna submit it for a challenge. Turns out I read it wrong and entered it an hour late. I thought I had seen PST but nope...it was EST! DUH GABBY! It was no harm in sharing anyways...so I still posted it! LOL! OMG I am SOOOOO happy with this card! I tooted my own horn, patted my own back and shoulders, and legs, and hands, and head, and feet....you get it! I am VERY proud of this card...it's like no other card I've ever made before! The only thing stamped here is Hanna, the palm tree, and the sailboat...the rest was freehanded! Yeah...UH HU! LOL! It's also my first time in a LONG time making a larger card. This one hear measures 6X6. Oh yeah...it's a whopper! Anywho...what do you think?

From 'Swimmers Ear' to 'Hawaii on the Brain'!

Well peeps...looks like my ears are getting better little by little and now it's passible enough for me to blog! YAY! So with awesome pain meds and antibiotics to help my infection...I am back in action! Last night was my first night to get back to stamping and it felt soo good! Good thing my Muse was up with me as I accomplished plenty of things like swaps and what not I had to get out of the way. Thanks to all who left well wishes! HUGS!

This "card" I made here was for a few reasons!

1. I thought the tutorial was great and the outcome SO different from what I'm use to! 2. There is a Hanna challenge to use the Luau set and ya'll KNOW how much I LOVE Hanna stamps! The challenge was to create a scene...so I don't know if this card will qualify, but I tried. My scene I guess is the flowers and the base as the "sand"...lol. and 3. There was ANOTHER Hanna challenge to make ANYTHING 3 dimensional using Hanna stamps! So in a way I killed 3 birds with one stone! ;) Good aim I may say! LOL!

OMG you can't even IMAGINE the scent coming off this card!!! I used my old soap scents to scent the flowers and base up using MangoPapaya scented "smellies"...my own smellies! I have so many scents stored I need to start bringing them out to make my cards smelly...lol.

I know I promised Halloweeny stuff...but I HAD to do this first! Next up...an MFT card! Ooooh! Now I need to make a Michaels trip to see if they have Martha Stewarts "dripping" edge punch! ;) I just noticed in on SCS on a card in the gallery and thought...HOW FUN!!! I'll have to wait until Friday though when Oscar is off since I can't drive due to my pain meds. Oh well!

So...what you think of this "Free Standing" pop up card?

Prismacolor markers used:
Cool Grey 30% (outline)
Cinnamon Toast (skin)
Walnut (eyes)
Sky Blue Light (eyeshadow)
Spanish Orange (umbrella)
Spruce Green (skirt)
Cold Stone (inside coconut)

Rhodamine (straw)
Light Aqua (bathing suit)
Dark Brown (hair)

Supplies:

Hanna Challenges

Hey! I'm back at it! I just got done with the Hanna Stamps release party and OMG their new sets Pirate and Luau are AWESOME! I sold a few things and so I broke down and bought those 2 only. Anywho...this first card was made using Bridal Hanna and the challenge was to make a card that didn't have to do with a bridal shower, wedding, etc...so I went down South...like to my Mexican heritage and made this card which is also a card I made for a friend of the family that is turning 15! It's a Quinceanera card. What's a quinceanera? Well...it's the equivalent of a Sweet 16. I tried to make this Hanna as Hispanic as possible...lol. The sentiment reads "Feliz 15" which means "Happy 15". The card measure 4X4! Whatcha think?

Supplies:
CS/DP: PPom, PIPink, & WWhite
Ink: BBlack & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: Bridal Hanna & Alphas & Numerals by Studio G
Embellishments: Prima flowers & BLING
Others: Giga scalloped punch, Mega circle punch, SU Scalloped punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, Colluzzle, & CB

Now this one was a QUICK one I made DURING the release party. Frances AKA StampOwl from SCS came up with a sketch challenge and so I whipped this one up. It's suppose to be Pirate Riley...but I gave him a little transgendered "surgery" and now we have Pirate Sophie? LOL! Whatcha think?
Supplies:
CS/DP: BBlack, RRed, WWhite, & Rockstar DO
Ink: BBlack & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: Pirate Riley & Pirate Princess by Rusty Pickle
Embellishments: gold ribbon
Others: SU Writer to make hair and clothing

I know I'm late...but here is an SCS Friday challenge!

Sorry I've been off and on...I have just been so short for time it's CRAZY!!! Anywho...the challenge over on SCS this Friday past called for making a card using ONLY brads as embellishments and to incorporate the brads INTO the stamp itself. I had just received my AWESOME Jeanne Streiff Collection stamps from RubberNecker that I had to use them. I used brads as centers for the flowers. Limited layers for this card as Friday's challenge calls for limited supplies. You can create something cute and passable with limited supplies...you just have to look for that inspiration! *wink* So what you think?

Supplies:
CS/DP: BBayou, BBlack, & WWhite
Ink: BBlack & SSky
Stamps: Red Flower, White Flower, & Just Leaves from the
Jeanne Streiff Collection
Embellishments: Bling Brads in clear
Others: Brayer & White gel pen

Birthday card for a friend!

This card just fresh off my work space was made for a stamping friend who's birthday is coming up. I wont give away too many details or else she'll pick up it's for her...if she reads my blog! *rolls eyes* I'm not sure she does...but just to stay on the safe side I'll keep her a secret! *wink* I know she has friends who do read my blog! Tongue Out
I used yesterday color challenge over on SCS and today's sketch! I don't use these colors around this time...more like around say...HALLOWEEN! LOL! But hey, I like challenges! The colors to use were get this~Orchid Opulence, Pumpkin Pie, & Certainly Celery! Fun huh? LMBO! I just love the outcome of the card because of all the "touchable" thingies and the texture!!! I got my new Cuttlebug folders that just came out about 2 weeks or so ago and I JUST broke in the Swiss Dots folder!!! SO MUCH FUN!!! I tried to mimic off everything on the card...from the dots to the balloons! The only "off" thing is the gingham ribbon...lol. So...whadda you think? Thanks for looking!

Non-Traditional Valentine

Made for Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge and with a friend in mind! LOL! Ok, a small story behind it...I have a recently divorced friend who's taken her freedom quite litteral and she's been "dating" around...well I thought this would be a perfect Valentine OR even a congrats? oh her divorce?! Anyways, she has my sense of humor...so I know this wont offend her. We're twisted like that!

I really like the outcome of this card because it came straight from my head without looking at the gallery for the challenge to get ideas...I'm trying to get out of that phase and just be original! I stamped the images onto watercolor paper because I get crisper coloring with no ugly streaks to mess up the images. Color was sponged around the edges because just plain looked boring. I dug thru scraps and found a large sheet of this DP...I believe it's from Figgy Pudding...but then again I could be wrong since it doesn't have a name to it. I went to the reliable Chocolate Chip CS to match flawlessly with the, "I wish they never retired", Cool Carribean. Edges were scalloped using a corner rounder punch by removing the "feet". Scalloped sentiment is popped up on dimensionals. Tires and car "detail" colored in with silver Pilot marker. Thanks for looking!
Supplies:
CS: CChip, CCarribean, Scraps DP, & watercolor paper
Ink: Jet Black Staz-On, CCarribean, Silver Marker by Pilot, & Prismacolor markers
Stamps: Loads Of Love & Loads Of Love Acces.
Embellishments: sheer dual color ribbon
Others: scalloped punch, 1 /38 circle punch, & corner rounder

Productive Day

It's actually been a busy one...but not with house chores...stamping!!! I finished off 2 swaps due in March PLUS I made 2 SCS challenge cards! I love these productive days! Here are the 2 cards I worked on for the challenges:

This one was made for Tuesday's color challenge that called for using Ballet Blue, Apricot Apeal, & Real Red. I didn't have AApeal...but I found something similar in my Bazzill Bling stash! I also finally got to ink up Pefect Package Hanna...shhh...don't tell hubby she was still un-inked! That's between me and you! LOL! I made this Hanna card with me in mind patiently waiting for a heafty order I placed thru SU...hence the brown box Hanna is opening! LOL! Now if only I actually looked like Hanna! The only similarity is that smile on her face opening that box...LOL!

Supplies:
CS: BBlue, Bazzill Apricot, RRed, & watercolor paper
Ink: BBlack & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: Perfect Package Hana
Embellishments: NONE
Others: N/A

This next card was made for today's sketch challenge. This sure was a fun sketch to work with and it gave me the opportunity to dig into some patterned paper I bought at Target. Some of the patterns on this paper inspired me to use Paper Trey Ink's Spiral Bouquet set! For some reason, I'm loving using brown on just about every card I make...whether it's CChip, C2Cocoa, or CCaramel...I gotta use it!
Supplies:
CS: CChip, BBlue, OOlive, VVanilla, & Angelica PP by K&Company
Ink: CChip, C2Cocoa, RRed, BBlue, & AArtichoke
Stamps: Spiral Bouquet & From The Garden by Fancy Pants
Embellishments: brads
Others: Stylized Flowers Cuttlebug folder & paper piercer

Monday's TLC Cootie Catcher

I'm sure many of you remember this little "game" back in the days...well, I do! LOL! This was the challenge on SCS for Monday's to try a new technique. It's funny because I had forgotten how to fold these little things...and even with worded instructions...I couldn't do it! SO, I went to my reliable 11 year old LV! LOL! It's funny how some of these things we did as kids are still passed on! Isn't it fun how I used the handcrafted stamp to go with the fact that it was made by hand and whatever is being created with the embellishments IS IN FACT being created by hand as well? LOL! Anywho...this was my version since I didn't have candies...lol. I made it small enough to sit on a small crafting table, but large enough to hold embellishments such as I have added here...brads, eyelets, flatback rhinestones, and flowers. I'll be doing a step by step instructions on how to make these since I'm more of a visual learner...I know there are more of you out there! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
CS: Transparency, GGuava, & White non SU
Ink: GGuava, WWasabi, & BBlack
Stamps: Spiral Bouquet & SU's "Handcrafted" stamp

Others: scalloped punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, sucker stick, & gardeners tape

Here is my beautiful paper "folder"! Thanks for the help little momma! MUAH!

Bloom Where You're Planted

I made this card earlier today for the WT challenge on SCS along with yesterday's sketch challenge. The challenge was a way to use staples. I had these staples for a while now...but my fastenater is lost and so I couldn't use it. Now...that wasn't gonna stop me though...lol. I used my cork board and pushed that puppy in! LOL! As you can see...I also used those great HUGE white flowers Joani sent me and cut it in half and stamped it with French Script in CCrisp. I LOVE these flowers! Joani...I'm gonna contact you to let me know where you got these so I can put in an order with 'cha! *wink*

Supplies:
CS: TThyme, CCrisp, & MMorning
Ink: CCrisp & TThyme
Stamps: French Script & Spiral Bouquet from Paper Trey Ink
Embellishments: BIG silk flower, Primas, & staple
Others: Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder

Thursday's Way To & Friday's Limited Supplies

I know I'm a bit late with these...but better late then never! Ok...so I was also feeling icky and my hand was swollen, but I still had to play along even though it took me a while to finish one card up with only 1 good hand. Still here are my cards. This one was made for Thursday's Way To challenge. The challenge was to show a way to use paint in your project...so I decided to use my Patina paints that I use to "antique" on this card. I first layeres it with the "primer" which is a sage color, then I brushed bronze over the green, dried with heat gun and then layered with gold. The gold isn't as visible, but IRL you CAN see it. After I was done with it, I thought "what was I thinking when I added the ric rac?", well, I took it off after...lol. It looks much better without it, but I didn't take a picture of it! *doh*

This next picture is of the card I made for Friday's Limited Supplies challenge. The challenge was to use up your scraps...and I so need to reduce my scraps! I have and this piece of DP was the one I chose to sacrifice in the making of this card. The outcome was a HIT! Now I need to buy some more of this DP because it was one of my favorite pieces that I had saved in the scraps pile! The vellum I used for the butterfly was also a scrap. I have to say this one was a true challenge being that I had to trim these pieces of 1 inch "tiles" using my left hand and then cutting the butterfly with my right (hurting) hand. I should have dome it the other way around...lol.

Supplies: Patina Paint card
CS: Mellow Moss & CChip (under paint)
Ink: Versamark & Patina Paint
Stamps: Bold Butterfly
Embellishments: Chocolate ric rac & eyelets
Others: Heat Gun

Supplies: Scrap Tiles card
CS: WWasabi, WWhite, Gold, Vellum, & Mellow DP
Ink: Versamark
Stamps: Stipple Butterfly & Happy Harmony
Embellishments: NONE
Others: Gold Detail EP

Tuesday's Color Combo Challenge & Wednesday's Sketch Challenge in ONE!

Since I've been feeling crappy, I skipped Tuesday's color challenge which was a good thing in a way because I was able to use it with Wednesday's sketch challenge. I think I like these colors together. At first I thought they would be kind of weird together, but then when I actually took the CS out...I liked it! TFL!

Supplies:
CS: BBayou, SSky, RRed, & White NON SU
Ink: BBayou, RRed, GGreen, & Prismacolor markers
Stamps: Vases In Vogue & Wonderful Words
Embellishments: NONE
Others: mini flower punch from Mike's $1 bin

SCS~A Fan Club Member PLUS

You wouldn't believe the great work you see over on the Fan Club member side...not to mention the great challenges! I became a fan club member some time back, but finally got the cajones to try their challenges. So for today, I made this card for the Fan Club Members 08 Dedicated To The One I Love challenges.

For the Central Theme: Stamping for Valentines, friendship, and all those that make our life grand! I decided to go ahead and finally make my 10 year anniversary card to my DH!

I also used the sketch: DSKETCH0108 http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...p;d=1197753297

and last but not least...The Inspiration piece: DINSP0108 http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...p;d=1197756909
I used the floor piece as the inspiration for the DP.

Hope you like, and TSMFL!! This is my FIRST EVER try at the fan club members challenge and I can say I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

I'm gonna write something mushy inside to give to my DH. I'll be honest, making this card for our 10 year anniversary made me cry. I mean I was litterally tearing up as I was making it. We have been thru so much...more downs than up, so 10 years to me, even with his meddling family outcasting me because I'm a "big lady", 10 years to me is a HUGE milestone. I hope for 10 more...I HOPE!

You know, as much as I love her and her talent for an 11 year old, she can become such the DIVA by wanting to use what I'm using at that exact same moment!!! What a paper craze about to begin in a while! *faint* I'm gonna get her, her own stuff for her birthday. It's March 1st., so if anyone wants to send some stuff....PLEASE DO!!! I'm kidding! I'm gonna get her a basket and I just HAVE to get her a Cuttlebug...now that is a MUST! I love my CB so much, I don't want to share that! LOL! Ok...off to make some cards!!!

Saturday's Inspirational Challenge!

So for Saturday's Inspirational Challenge over at SCS, we had to use this as the inspiration for creating a card. I didn't want to over-do it...so I made a clean simple card using the piece. Is it too plane? Whatcha think? I made this card last night instead of sleeping since my doc took me off my sleeping pills to see if that's what's lowering my blood sugar. I was stalking the inspirational challenge and by 9:05 pm, I saw it, said I would sleep on it...but didn't! LOL! I was amazed to see it had already 52 comments this morning!!!!! WOW!!! Ok...a word of advice...when you're sleepy and your head it telling you to go to sleep, do it, instead of picking up the paper snips to cut ALL THOSE LITTLE FLOWERS OUT!!! This is how bad it was...I woke up at 10 am!!!!! LOL! I guess I was able to get some beauty sleep well needed...lol.

Supplies:
CS: Kraft & White non SU
Ink: AArtichoke, RRed, BBlack, & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: From The Garden by Fancy Pants & You Make Me Happy
Embellishments: black polka-dot sheer ribbon
Others: paper snips for small flowers
