I know I'm late...but here is an SCS Friday challenge!

Sorry I've been off and on...I have just been so short for time it's CRAZY!!! Anywho...the challenge over on SCS this Friday past called for making a card using ONLY brads as embellishments and to incorporate the brads INTO the stamp itself. I had just received my AWESOME Jeanne Streiff Collection stamps from RubberNecker that I had to use them. I used brads as centers for the flowers. Limited layers for this card as Friday's challenge calls for limited supplies. You can create something cute and passable with limited supplies...you just have to look for that inspiration! *wink* So what you think?

Supplies:
CS/DP: BBayou, BBlack, & WWhite
Ink: BBlack & SSky
Stamps: Red Flower, White Flower, & Just Leaves from the
Jeanne Streiff Collection
Embellishments: Bling Brads in clear
Others: Brayer & White gel pen

No Words...

...a swap I'm in hosted by Txmommystamps over on SCS! The swap challenge was to make a card with no greeting or sentiment on it. I loved this idea as I sometimes receive cards from swaps and wish they had a different sentiment or greeting to give to someone. So I thought this idea was great and joined. Lately I've been trying to do something different than from what I'm use to...so I've been trying out masking and/or layering stamps that aren't necessarily from a set. So I came up with this card! I love how it all came together! I used Basic Birds from TAC and Out On A Limb by Paper Trey...don't these look fabby together? I have recently gotten an obsession with purchasing bird and/or owl stamps...and this is one set I'm sure happy I bought! The bird normally is not solid...it's an outlined stamp...but I wanted to give it a "silhouette" look so I colored him in with my black prismacolor marker and added a "highlight" on it's chest, belly, and tail feathers to accentuate it. Whatcha think?

Supplies:
CS: C2Cocoa, TThyme, White non SU, & DP unknown vendor
Ink: BBlack, CChip, TThyme, & SSun
Stamps: Basic Birds TAC & Out On A Limb Paper Trey
Embellishments: ribbon from SU's Beachfront pallet
Others: corner punch (for scallops) and Crop-A-Dile

Easter Magnolia

I just finished making these cards this morning. I had to ink up my stamp as hubby said to do in order for me to buy more stamps...lol. These cards were made for a swap in my MSN group that my girl Nic hosted this time around. When I first chose this stamp as my hostess stamp...I really didn't like it. Once I inked it up though, I loved it! Just a single flower can give so much POW without looking too over-done! I added these teeny tiny beads in the center and some dew drops on the leaves. Outcome...very happy! What do you think? I know Magnolias are normally white...but I did a Google search...lol...just to be different and found a pretty yellow one, so I went with that! ;)

Supplies:
CS: LLace, PPlum, & White non SU
Ink: Jet Black Staz-On & Prismacolor markers
Stamps: From The Garden
Embellishments: N/A
Others: Diamond Glaze, Ticket corner punch, & micro beads

Thursday's Way To & Friday's Limited Supplies

I know I'm a bit late with these...but better late then never! Ok...so I was also feeling icky and my hand was swollen, but I still had to play along even though it took me a while to finish one card up with only 1 good hand. Still here are my cards. This one was made for Thursday's Way To challenge. The challenge was to show a way to use paint in your project...so I decided to use my Patina paints that I use to "antique" on this card. I first layeres it with the "primer" which is a sage color, then I brushed bronze over the green, dried with heat gun and then layered with gold. The gold isn't as visible, but IRL you CAN see it. After I was done with it, I thought "what was I thinking when I added the ric rac?", well, I took it off after...lol. It looks much better without it, but I didn't take a picture of it! *doh*

This next picture is of the card I made for Friday's Limited Supplies challenge. The challenge was to use up your scraps...and I so need to reduce my scraps! I have and this piece of DP was the one I chose to sacrifice in the making of this card. The outcome was a HIT! Now I need to buy some more of this DP because it was one of my favorite pieces that I had saved in the scraps pile! The vellum I used for the butterfly was also a scrap. I have to say this one was a true challenge being that I had to trim these pieces of 1 inch "tiles" using my left hand and then cutting the butterfly with my right (hurting) hand. I should have dome it the other way around...lol.

Supplies: Patina Paint card
CS: Mellow Moss & CChip (under paint)
Ink: Versamark & Patina Paint
Stamps: Bold Butterfly
Embellishments: Chocolate ric rac & eyelets
Others: Heat Gun

Supplies: Scrap Tiles card
CS: WWasabi, WWhite, Gold, Vellum, & Mellow DP
Ink: Versamark
Stamps: Stipple Butterfly & Happy Harmony
Embellishments: NONE
Others: Gold Detail EP

Saturday's Inspirational Challenge!

So for Saturday's Inspirational Challenge over at SCS, we had to use this as the inspiration for creating a card. I didn't want to over-do it...so I made a clean simple card using the piece. Is it too plane? Whatcha think? I made this card last night instead of sleeping since my doc took me off my sleeping pills to see if that's what's lowering my blood sugar. I was stalking the inspirational challenge and by 9:05 pm, I saw it, said I would sleep on it...but didn't! LOL! I was amazed to see it had already 52 comments this morning!!!!! WOW!!! Ok...a word of advice...when you're sleepy and your head it telling you to go to sleep, do it, instead of picking up the paper snips to cut ALL THOSE LITTLE FLOWERS OUT!!! This is how bad it was...I woke up at 10 am!!!!! LOL! I guess I was able to get some beauty sleep well needed...lol.

Supplies:
CS: Kraft & White non SU
Ink: AArtichoke, RRed, BBlack, & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: From The Garden by Fancy Pants & You Make Me Happy
Embellishments: black polka-dot sheer ribbon
Others: paper snips for small flowers

Thursdays Way To Challenge...DOUBLE WHAMMY!

Hey there, still battling the blood sugar levels and I think they're finally going up because I'm feeling lots better. So anyways, today's "Way To" challenge over at SCS was to use embossing powder in any way shape or form and I tried out 2 techniques, the cracked glass technique & the embossing resist! I had tried the cracked glass before, but I guess I was too anxious to see the results, I didn't leave it in the freezer long enough and I didn't get the "cracked" effect like I wanted it too...however, it did turn out fair. I wonder if I still have it in my files! Anywho...these cards I made today I think, in my own opinion of course, are great! I love them very much...especially the embossing resisit one. I love that look! Anywho...thanks for looking!

For today's Limited Supplies challenge I made this adorable House Mouse card. We were to use any colors from any of the SU color familes. Since I'm lovin' the In Color '08 colors...I had to use them all except for PPom...it just wouldn't match! I got this stamp for my DD because she joined a swap that called for mice, but with homework and dance classes, I am gonna have to fill in for her. Anywho...hope you like! Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Beauty!

I have to hold my head up high and pop my collar because I LOVE how this card I made last night turned out! I'm almost always making cards with many layers, but not this time. I headed over to Capture The Moment and saw the card Nichole Heady made and KNEW I had to replicate it! BUT, since I don't have that stamp set...yet...*wink wink*, I used my Baroque Motifs! Hey, if you wanna try something simple, I made a "template" on how to cut the "pallets".

Supplies:
CS: Base~Mellow Moss Front~Beige or Ivory NON SU
Ink: Peeled Paint Distress Ink, MMoss & RRock
Stamps: Baroque Motifs & Sentiment from UKV (unknown vendor)
Embellishments: flat back rhinestones
Others: pom poms

Here is the "template":

Hope you can use it and make a simple layer beauty!

SCS Limited Supplies Challenge

So I made this card for today's Limited Supply Challenge which was to make a card with limited supplies for a "special ocassion" for when a friend or just anyone is having a bad day. This challenge was to use only 2 - 3 stamps with one having a heart, either designer paper OR and embellishment, limited layers, & a tool of choice (optional). I had just received my DP I bought on eBay this week and I had to use it...I mean that's what I bought it for right? LOL! I also used this AWESOME clear stamp set from Fancy Pants called From the Garden and OMG it's yummy! As soon as I saw it, I had to get it. Anywho, I was at a loss because I didn't know what to make using a heart, so I went with this and is now sitting on my desk because I love it! What do you think?

Supplies:
CS: Kraft, Whisper White, & Owl Pals DP by Serendipity
Stamps: From the Garden by Fancy Pants
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, & Groovy Guava
"Tool of Choice": Sponges

Autumn Leaves Rocks!

I'm so loving the stamps from Autumn Leaves! Thanks to Maria of Cards Inspired, I got hooked! This is what I made this morning using the Scribbles Alphabet from AL! I'm thinking one dimension lately since I've been kind of down...so that is why recently you've seen more "flat" cards. I need to get out of my funk so I can make "bulkier" cards. Hope to jump out of it by tonight so I can work on some swap cards. I want my partners to receive something that both them and I can be proud of. I HATE being in this one dimensional funk.

Supplies:
CS: Purely Pom & Whisper White
Stamps: Scribbles Alpha & Doodle This
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pom, Basic Black, & Zig Markers

What I made today!! *BIG SMILE*

This card I made first with te ladies that came for a stamping class. We were first gonna work on some Halloween cards, but when they saw a previous card I made, the instantly fell in love with this card. They waited patiently to make their card because I only have one set...lol. It was nice to see them share. When one finished the first stamped image, she passed on the stamp and pad to the next. They were really happy with their cards and wished that Stampin' Up hadn't retired it. I know what they mean! I probably would have more sells with this set. This is also a card I'm gonna be sending to the Dunn family. Inside I'm gonna type up a verse from the bible before I send it off. I'll be reading thru my bible tonight to see what fits. I'm sending it off Monday, so I hope I can find something fitting.

This card I made second. It's for the Dunn twins from the post below. I made it with lots of love and care. I used Priceless as seeing their little faces on their parents site and being so brave is priceless. You can read about it at the links I've provided below. Please take some time out to send this courageous family a card filled with well wishes for the girls and just a hello to let them know we are behind them and praying not only for the girls, but for them in general.

I made this card last since it's for a swap that doesn't close yet. It was a challenge to use only black & white with NO accent color! I went to the old reliable....Baroque Motifs! I know, I'm gonna wear this set out to the wood! I may have to hide it well so I can leave it alone for a bit...lol.

My Daughter is at it AGAIN!

So I was so inspired and really hyped up this morning to make cards and what not, but then things got in the way of that (running errands, paying bills, etc...) and then it was time to pick up my son from school, the pick up Elvira (my DD), and then go back to my DS's school for parent conference... Well when we got home I was tired...I didn't mention we went to wash my tank (AKA my Expedition) and well...where was I...right, I got home tired and just wanted to chill when my DD decided she would finally break out the sets she wanted to use for her card for a swap in my group. She had sketched it out and it looked kind of weird and complicated (that's just who she is!), but when I saw it all come together, I was WOWED!!! My DD sure takes my breath away at some of her work! To think she's only 11!!! I've seen a HUGE transformation from her style. Just look at what she made for this pink & black swap!!! There was A LOT of cutting...that I had to do since she sprained a finger during physical ed. She got her inspiration while watching Cinderella! Yup...the "flourishes" are suppose to be the body of the carriage, the pumpkin, well of course, the Princess seat, and the medallions, tires/wheels. What a clever DD of mine! The pumpkin is covered with pink glitter, but you can't see that because I just took this picture a few minutes ago and it's already dark out. Now if only she would learn to do her own "watermark/signature"! Well, no, then she would out do me! Yikes!

Supplies used: (all Stampin' Up! unless mentioned differently)
Basic Black & Cameo Coral cardstock
Cool Cat, Baroque Motifs, Autumn Harvest, & Curvy Verses stamps sets
Versamark Ink
Black & Pink EP from CopperKate (eBay)
Pink glitter from Stampendous
Brads (unknown)
