Raid your medicine cabinet my friend!

Because those ugly orangy medicine bottles...can become something so beautiful! Take for instance this medicine bottle altered to hold my roll of stamps!!! Of course I am not one to take away credit from the originator of this idea...so here is HER rendition of the altered medicine bottle! ISN'T IT GENIOUS!!! So...my roll of stamps gets beat up a bit when I just toss it in a box in my cubby...so I had to make one to house my roll of postage!!! Whatcha think? Gonna raid your medicine cabinets? *wink* The flowers I attached a top were a TY gift from Gina of Gina K. for my recent order...she ROCKS!!! I bet you don't know where I got the sentiment "Don't forget the stamps"? Well...I partially stamped the sentiment from Passaport Hanna that says "Don't forget. Get your passaport STAMPED!" LOL! Clever huh? I used my SU writer to add the S at the end of stamps and the word "the". Not great...but it works! LOL!

Supplies:
CS: BBlack & DP I got at Target
Ink: BBlack
Stamps: Passaport Hanna
Embellishments: Prima flowers, bling, burgundy satin ribbon, & black gingham ribbon
Others: medicine bottle, mega scalloped punch, giga scalloped punch, SU scalloped punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, & hot knife (to make slit)

Patriotic Tiny Treat Boxes

Hi there...time for another Gabby tutorial...lol. It's been a while since I last worked on something to share and apart from that...I've been neglecting my Scor-Pal for projects OTHER than scoring and folding cards. Ok...so here goes! I'm gonna be making about 30 or so of these for our 4th Of July get together celebration. This year we're expecting my inlaws to be here as well as my sister who's in Arizona and also my DD's BFF's. I'm gonna make these only for the kids and fill them with those "snap dragons"...you know...the ones you throw on the ground and they "snap"? That'll keep them entertained in the day time besides the pool until it gets dark enough to start lighting the fireworks. Ok...now here goes for real this time...lol.

Supplies Used:
Brilliant Blue CS 6 1/2" x 4"
Real Red CS 1/2" x 7" (for box band)
Stamp Set Heartfelt Hits 1 from Gina K. (starburst)
Stamp Set Patriotic Mini from Hana Stamps (Hanna holding flag)
Lg. Star Punch from Stampin' Up!
1 3/8" Circle Punch from Stampin' Up!
1" Circle Punch from Stampin' Up!
Jet Black Staz-On
Many Marvelous Markers in Brilliant Blue, Real Red, More Mustard, & Blush Blossom
White Craft ink pad
Zots 3/16" glue dots
Snips scissors
Corner Rounder (with platfrom removed)
Scor-Pal
(click on thumbnail for larger pictures if these are too small for you)

First stamp (if desired) your 6 1/2" x 4" piece of CS.
Grab your Scor-Pal or other scoring device you may have

Turn your stamped CS over and line it up long ways. Score at 1", 3", 4", & 6"
Here it is with the template
Turn your CS piece the short way and score at 1" & 3"
Here it is again with template
Cut ONLY on dotted lines...solids are to fold
Use glue dots or adhesive of choice and add a dot or so to the small flaps (4)
Assemble bottom of box by leaving the smaller flaps on inside
Cut larger side (top) flaps at an angle to create "triangles" as picture. I didn't use a template...just eyeballed it
Cut off small flaps
Use your corner rounder without it's platform/feet and round those corners
Do the same to the "airplane" flaps
Slip in all flaps
Close box
Now on to the belt!
Fold the 1/2" x 7" belt as you go...I didn't score with the Scor-Pal
Add glue dots or adhesive of choice for the belts ends making sure NOT to adhere it to the box...we need it to slip off. Follow the following pictures.
Grab your embellishments for the belt of choice. Here I punched a blue star, red circle and white circle
Here I used Patriotic Hanna for the "spotlight" for the 1" circle
I partially inked up the part of the stamp I wanted to use which here was Hanna's arm and flag
Thank goodness for clear stamps and acrylics...you have a view of where you want then aligned. I'm not a Stamp-A-Majig user...lol.
Color in your image! Here I used Brilliant Blue, Real Red, More Mustard, & Blush Blossom. I used a white gel pen for the stars
Here is how I stacked my punches out...red circle, blue star, white with image. Then I attached them to the belt using glue dots.
Slip the belt on to your box and YOU'RE DONE!!! TA DA!!! Finished box measures 2" x 2" x 1"!!!

The possibilities are endless. You can make these for Weddings, Baby Showers, or just for fun to give to friends and family. You can fill them with candies, embellishments for a crafter friend, you can even use these as jewelry boxes!!! You can even use ribbon instead of CS for the belt!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and hope you try it out! Holla at me if you make one so I can checkitout! ;) Thanks for stoppin' by!

Hugs make life "bear-able"!

And boy is it true! What's better than hugs? No...don't answer that! LOL! Anywho...this card here I made 6 of for another SCS swap I'm in...I'm not Gabby Green Eyes Ho (swap Ho) for nothing! I just fell in love with this stamp when I saw it at Whipper Snapper Designs I had to get it. I'm loving the open spaces these stamps have to color. I feel like a kid again when I use to lay on my belly and color until I could color no more! I need to order more of these kinds of stamps. ;) I say that now because I'm in LOVE with both my Prismacolor markers and my Many Marvelous Markers from SU! I've been doing the "No Copics, No Problem" thing and love the effect. I need to practice more though...just like you have to keep practicing on any kind of coloring tool to get the effect you want. I was looking thru the Dick Blick catalog I recently got and I was thinking of picking up some Copic sets I saw there...but then I thought, yes, the copics are great and give coloring great effects (when you know what you're doing of course), but then I thought...how can I betray what I love right now. I have a feeling if I would buy the copics...it would be a phase of mine just like when I bought the mega and giga punches! I don't want to waste my money like that...especially when I'm liking what I'm getting out of my PC's and MMM's! No offence to you copic lovers...this is just MY opinion...K? LOL! Anywho...enough babble...I think I had too much caffeine this morning! YIKES! So...do you think I'm doing better with my MMM's and the "No copics, No problem" technique. Here is the YouTube video! I still need much practice...but in the meanwhile...I'm liking the outcome so far. I can't wait to get better...lol. It's all trial and error baby...that's me...Ms. Trial and Error! :P Ok now...off to blog hop...I've been bad at doing that and then some stampin' baby!!! Stay tuned for more to come! :D

These were made for an SCS swap called "Make someone laugh/smile"...do you think this will do the trick? LOL! I know it's kinda yucky and TMI when you really think of it...but it is life! ROFLMBO! Right? Oh I hope I'm not the only one with "that" problem! *blush* Ok...I'm just cracking up as I look at the pictures...I couldn't help myself! *cracks up and folds head down in shame*

I stamp...therefore I'm broke!

So this is all I've been able to stamp since putting my craft room into place. It's one of those plastic/acrylic frames where you slip in the picture from behind. These stamps are a little weird...lol...but they have grown on me. I got them for my DD who LOVES these and I had to borrow this one to make my frame...lol. She looks like me when I come out of Michaels...satisfied but broke! LOL! I also added the ribbon to slip in the pen to have it handy. Whatcha think?

Supplies:
CS: CChip, VVanilla, & SU DP
Ink: BBlack
Stamps: Moth Fab from
Stampotique & Broke Stamper from Whipper Snapper
Embellishments: gold ribbon, floss, & pearls

Others: acrylic frame & RSVP pen

I'm baaaaack!!!

Hey readers...I am BACK! I finally had some time to come and update since the whole carpet thing! Man it was heck...but it's finally done and over with and now have more time to rub my bare feets thru my new rug while stamping! Oh heaven! LOL! When putting things back, I, well hubby, told me I should also rearrange my craft room...and believe it or not...he's got good taste! Now with the weather warming up and looking at clear blue skies...I like how he told me to turn my desk over to the large window so I can have a view while I craft. Ahhh...he wants me to craft in comfort!!! Here is what my craft room now looks like! Oh...and the carpet color has some of my favorite SU colors...LOL! The colors are CChip, C2Cocoa, CCaramel, & VVanilla!!! I want to embellish the heck out of it with some pinks or aquas...but it's not possible! LOL!
