Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge

For today's Limited Supplies challenge I made this adorable House Mouse card. We were to use any colors from any of the SU color familes. Since I'm lovin' the In Color '08 colors...I had to use them all except for PPom...it just wouldn't match! I got this stamp for my DD because she joined a swap that called for mice, but with homework and dance classes, I am gonna have to fill in for her. Anywho...hope you like! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
CS: BBayou, SSky, WWasabi, & WWhite
Ink: BBayou, SSky, WWasabi, & RRock
Stamps: Morning Kick Start House Mouse, Like It A Late from SU, & Hot Stuff from MFT
Embellishments: NONE except for piercing
Others: Gamsol & pom poms

I've been awarded!

Rosella has just awarded me with the "You Make My Day Award" and I'm so happy about it! It's nice to be awarded and most of all...making someone's day! Now I'm off to award some of the bloggers that make my day as well! Thanks Rosella!!!

Simple Beauty!

I have to hold my head up high and pop my collar because I LOVE how this card I made last night turned out! I'm almost always making cards with many layers, but not this time. I headed over to Capture The Moment and saw the card Nichole Heady made and KNEW I had to replicate it! BUT, since I don't have that stamp set...yet...*wink wink*, I used my Baroque Motifs! Hey, if you wanna try something simple, I made a "template" on how to cut the "pallets".

Supplies:
CS: Base~Mellow Moss Front~Beige or Ivory NON SU
Ink: Peeled Paint Distress Ink, MMoss & RRock
Stamps: Baroque Motifs & Sentiment from UKV (unknown vendor)
Embellishments: flat back rhinestones
Others: pom poms

Here is the "template":

Hope you can use it and make a simple layer beauty!

Thursdays Way To Challenge

Today's challenge was to make something "faux" or way of usinf leather, suede...etc. So I decided to work on the faux leather tutorial posted by Beate on SCS in the Resources section. Sorry, I'm not too chatty today, it's just too much drama I'm facing right now with my MSN group. I hate to become the bad guy, but I'm gonna have to start enforcing stricter rules and start booting people off as much as don't want to. If I have to become a *itch...then I guess I'll have to. I've had it with busting my @ss putting the group together so I can have slackers when it comes to swaps. I know life gets in the way...but geez, let your partners know. I've been an angel for many swaps, so if I have to step up as an angel again...I don't mind. Ok...I went sooooo off track. Let me post a quick tutorial on how I made my faux leather card...bare with me please, I am not great at tutorials...but I'll try.
Supplies:
CS: Kraft, C2Cocoa, VVanilla, & CChip
Ink: CChip, CCaramel, RuRed, MMustard, Versamark
Stamps: Bronc Buster
Embellishments: Hodgepodge Hardware, brads, & eyelets
Others: Cuttlebug Mesh folder, masking tape, UTEE, & pom poms

How To Make Faux Leather!
Supplies you'll need: masking tape, neutral CS, clear embossing ink, clear EP (UTEE is fine too), & inks of choice.
1. Start by masking your CS with small pieces of masking tape
2. Here it is all covered up
3. whatever tape is left to the sides, you don't have to trim it, just flip it to the back
4.chose a color ink to add first, here I used Creamy Caramel
5. swipe it all across and up and down until you acheive the look you want
6. here is what it looks like once the first ink is applied
7. I then chose to add another color, here, More Mustard...but you can add as many or as few colors as you like
8. since I didn't want the More Mustard color to be too dark, I used a sponge brush to swipe it on
9. I did the same with the Ruby Red
10. and then again with Close To Cocoa

11. this was my final color touch outcome

12. next swipe over the whole CS with Versamark or any other embossing ink

13. sprinkle with clear embossing powder and shake off (here I used UTEE)
14. heat emboss it until it's nice and glossy

15. and you're done!

Hope you've enjoyed my attempt at a tutorial! Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Sketch

I was browsing thru the MFT section on SCS and found a great sketch. So before I went to bed, I decided to go for it! Hey, it'll come in handy for future birthdays since I'm SO bad at them. That's one reason I didn't sign up for the Birthday RAK list one of my SBS started...because I knew I would slack! So anywho...I hadn't used this set for some time now and it was begging me for some ink. Sorry I'm not too happy chatty today...I'm just upset at how things are going on in my MSN group because some members are either NOT complying with finishing up their swaps and others are upset that they have to swap with the same people...mind you we only have 17 members and from that about only 7 or 8 are active. I'm just so sick of it! I created that group because a couple of the members were tired of another group and having to swap with other members who were not making such great cards (example=flimsy "CS", stickers ONLY, and just not great work). I invited people who I thought made AWSOME cards and were more up to "par" when it came to making cards...but many times I got shot down...so I tried my best to recruit as much as I can...yet those "fussy" members don't see the hard work I've put into even putting together the group and great ideas for swaps. Ugh...I'm sorry to be such a party pooper today...I've just had it and would hate to close my group at a moments anger. If you've read this far...thanks for letting me vent!
