Something new...my new craft!

Thanks to seeing some beautiful crocheted flowers as embellishments...I decided to embark in a new adventure! First let me tell you...I bought 40 flowers from Joani of Cards Made By Hand for $20 and my hubby said...why not make your own! Of course I was intimidated and was SUPER happy when I got my flowers from Joani (her momma Rose makes them...and beautifully too) that I said there is NO WAY I'll be able to make these...well...I was wrong! I went to Mike's with hubby and the kids since HE was pushing me to do it (he wants me to be thrifty now...lol) and I grabbed me some 4 ply yarn and a few needles to start. I bought hot pink, red, lime green, purple, & black. Well let me tell you...I found this OH SO EASY video on YouTube and went from there...30 minutes later...I made my first flower! *GASP* It looks a bit weird...duh...beginner here...but I'm actually very proud of my first DEE DEE REE flower! LOL! (dee dee ree courtesy of Carlos Mencia) So without further adieu here is my first flower! Please don't laugh too hard ok? It's my baby! :P

Just look at how pretty these flowers look on cards! Here is a CAS (?) card I made just for the heck of it. Stamps used are all from There She Goes clear stamps!

Have a great Friday and an even greater 3 day weekend! I'll probably be away...so if you don't see me post...you know I'm gone!

Supplies:
CS/DP: Kraft, BBlack, & WWhite
Ink: BBlack
Stamps: There She Goes
Embellishments: crocheted flower, flat back bling, & Stickles in Icicles

Too cool Gabby! I so want to make my own flowers too, but I haven't tried yet. I couldn't find a video on YouTube that looked decent, I'll have to try again!

AWESOME job, Gabby! Crocheting is hard for me. My mom tried to teach me years ago but I couldn't do it. Now, I just ask her to make me some. LOL!

Ohhh Gabby! That is purdy! I can smell it from here - or wait, is that your sushi still? lol! I think CAS stands for clean and simple...but WE wouldn't know anything about that right? Our schtuff is dirty and hard. HAHAHAHA! I can't believe I just said that. I'm going to find my rosary now...
