A Special Post~A Challenge For Henry!

Hey all! I sat down to sip on some coffee and eat some toast this morning to read up on blogs before I ventured into my craft room to clean and what not and found JUGS is having a very special challenge!

As you may have read on a previous post...a fellow blogger and stamper on SCS's 3 year old son Henry passed away after an illness that until now hasn't been found out what was the main cause of his death. It started out as a tummy ache and then a fever and then the unexpected happened. Very sad tragedy indeed. Even sadder that it's a little angel...they haven't even come close to living a life. The same day I read about Henry...I hugged my kids so tight and cried.

JUGS decided to team up with Katie Cotton...owner of Paper Makeup Stamps for a challenge and that was to create a card using Henry...a digi Katie has in her store to raise money for Sarah...Henry's mom. You can read more about the challenge on the JUGS blog. My card was made with Henry's Snow Angel as the main focus and not too much added as to not take away from the most important part of the reason for the challenge. I use the awesome sketch for Mojo Monday Week 112. Henry was colored with Copics.

I'm adding a special candy with this challenge. NO...I AM IN NO PART ASSOCIATED WITH JUGS OR PAPER MAKEUP STAMPS...I'm just doing it from the goodness of my heart so you can go out and buy this digi and create a card using Henry. It is for a great cause. It can be anything but a card as well...tags, boxes, ANYTHING... What I'm offering up is a surprise FAT envelope of stuff I would use! From dies to flowers to buttons...it will be fat...trust me! So go on now to Paper Makeup Stamps and pick up Henry! You have until NEXT WEEK...the 19th to post your card on a blog or online gallery. Just make sure to leave me a comment here and leave a link for me to view it and on Friday morning...I will post the winner!

ALSO...I will be selling this card on my Etsy and I will personally pledge that when sold...the money (minus PayPal fee) will be forwarded to Katie to add to the Henry & Sarah fund. So...whadda ya say? Head on over to my Etsy to pick it up!

Thanks everyone and I truly do hope you participate in this JUGS special challenge! AND if you want some of my goodies...join me! Hey...you can use your JUGS card to enter in MY challenge! See...I'm making it easy!

Excellent Gabby - LOVE your take on this Henry! Your coloring is really good, certainly showing "movement". Mr. Linky is now up - I can't ADD a new link for you so can you go link up with Mr. Linky now please? Thanks!

DUUUUH - Gabby - I figured out to just add your link through the Mr. Linky so it's there now - sorry - was having a "blonde moment". Glad you played along.

Gabby, I'm at work and cannot see your card, but I wanted to thank you for adding onto our challenge so more players will join in! That is so generous of you! I'll look at your card once again at home so I can see it!

Gabby, I’m sitting here reading your post and smiling. Not because of the loss of this sweet little guy, that is such a tragedy and my heart and prayers go out to his family. I’m smiling because you are a good reminder that we still have compassionate, generous people in the world. Living in the DC area, it’s easy to overlook the good with the rat race all around me. You are such a good soul…you have trials of your own yet you are reaching out and doing what you can to help this family. Thank you being a ray of light…and thank you for supplementing the JUGS challenge with an awesome challenge of your own! You didn’t even need the JUGS disclaimer. We’re proud to have you participating much less helping to promote our challenge to raise funds for the Anderson family!

Your card is spectacular! I love your coloring and how you really gave dimension to the snow and captured the movement of the image! That snowflake is gorgeous and I adore the color palette you chose! Thank you, my friend, for promoting our charitable challenge and giving me a renewed sense of faith in basic human kindness this morning  We can all use those reality checks from time to time.

Gabby thanks for offering up additional blog candy on your own - that is SO thoughtful of you and generous too - we have not had many participants on JUGS for this challenge and I don't know why. Thank you again for your generous spirit - the world needs more yous! :-)
